Software Engineer

Work Summary: You will work with our core team of academic researchers and engineers developing new protocols and APIs. Your job will be to distill appropriate design requirements and work with a team of software engineers to implement the system. Ongoing communication and feedback between you and the team is a vital part of the collaborative effort at Stealth. Your starting role will be focused on a specific research project, though some parts of the project are cross-domain and involve multiple disciplines. The project will include both the design and use of novel software modules and APIs, developed internally as well as APIs from external collaborators. It is crucial that you have a drive for writing, improving, testing, and innovating code, as many of the projects have self-defined tradeoffs that can be explored. As our company is focused on building software from the latest cryptographic research and techniques, the resulting software we are building is at an early stage of development and prototyping. It will be subject to rigorous testing by third parties for functionality and performance. We will rely on your experience and talent to design, rapidly prototype, stage test environments, benchmark, and optimize the software.
Job Type:

Education:
  • Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field
Experience/Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a software engineering environment or advanced degree in computer science
  • Distributed systems experience
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++ and Java (with cross-platform development); other relevant languages are a plus
  • Well-suited for a fast-paced workplace with a diverse and geographically dispersed R&D team
  • Self-driven with the motivation to review and improve code
  • Familiarity with developing secure network systems
  • Strong familiarity with software engineering/project management concepts and tools
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
  • Strong familiarity with Git

System Engineer

Work Summary:

You will be responsible for working closely with our team of software engineers to make our libraries and software products accessible to our customers. We also work with several external organizations in a cross-collaborative effort to build and develop a number of cybersecurity tools, and you will be instrumental in designing and building the various software modules and APIs and requisite infrastructure for allowing cross-system integration of our software suite. From product conception through development and deployment, we will leverage your experience and insight to ensure that our design and implementation meet our clients’ needs and can be readily installed, deployed, and integrated into their operating environment.

Your starting role will be focused on a specific software project, though some parts of the project are cross-domain and involve multiple disciplines. You will work with our software engineers, as well as external collaborators, to design new software and implement APIs that allow our software to run on multiple appropriate platforms. As such, it will be crucial that you have a deep understanding and experience in developing cross-platform software, and specific experience in a number of common operating systems and environments (Windows, Linux/Unix/MacOS, Android, iOS, etc.).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science or related field

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or IT/infrastructure engineering
  • Deep understanding of API design and trade-offs
  • Extensive experience with various build systems, e.g. make, cmake, maven, gradle, etc.
  • Familiarity in coordinating/integrating components across different platforms, especially in managing incompatible versions of libraries across multiple operating systems and devices
  • Experience as lead developer/manager for CI/CD project
  • Demonstrated passion for efficiency in testing and deploying environments, preferably through automated scripts, or very well-documented guidelines

IACR Crypto Engineer

Work Summary:
Stealth Software Technologies is looking for recent graduates in theoretical and applied cryptography, coding theory, combinatorics, and programming languages. We perform cutting-edge research and software development in multiple areas of cryptography, including Zero-Knowledge, Multi-Party Computation, Private Set Intersection, Searchable Encryption, Distributed Consensus and other cryptographic algorithms and tool chains. Our team consists of several IACR Fellows and numerous research faculty members across the U.S. and the world, and we are deeply connected with the crypto community. As such, working for Stealth will provide you with the opportunity to continue working on challenging academic problems at the forefront of crypto and security research, as well as helping design novel software prototypes that leverage the latest cryptographic techniques to optimize security and performance.
